Terms of Service

This is our current text. It will be updated after a legal review, and each update gets a new version date.
1. Who we are
Identity Explorer (identityexplorer.com) is run by Insightful Traits LLC. You can reach us at legal@identityexplorer.com. Our company details are on the imprint.
2. Accepting these terms
By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms. The version date is at the top of this page.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell account holders by email and put a notice on the site at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
3. Age
You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live, ask a parent or guardian first.
Anyone can take a quiz without an account.
4. What the service is
Identity Explorer offers personality quizzes for fun. They are not psychological, medical, career or relationship assessments, and we do not promise that a result is accurate.
5. Your account
- One person per account.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. The Privacy Policy explains what is deleted.
6. A free service
The service is free. If we add paid features later, separate terms will apply to them, and we will ask you to accept those terms before you are ever charged.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- scrape the site or access it automatically beyond what our robots.txt allows;
- try to break our security or get around rate limits;
- put abusive or unlawful content in a display name or a crew invite message;
- pretend to be someone else.
8. Your content
Your display name and crew invite messages stay yours. You give us permission to show them where you choose, for example on a leaderboard or to your crew. We may remove them if they break these terms.
9. Our content and other people's trademarks
The quizzes, text and art on this site belong to us.
Some quizzes name films, shows, books or other properties. Those names are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to say what a quiz is about. Those quizzes are unofficial, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by the owners.
10. Copyright and trademark complaints
If you think something on the site infringes your rights, write to legal@identityexplorer.com. Our content moderation page explains how we handle reports.
11. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranties, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses from using a free entertainment service, to the extent the law allows.
If you live in the EU or the UK, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
12. Changes to the service
We may change or stop features. You may stop using the service at any time.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the US state where Insightful Traits LLC is formed. If you live in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. There is no arbitration clause.
